Bradford Guild Of Handweavers, Spinners & Dyers

Welcome to the Bradford Guild Website

              Happy New Year everyone!

Welcome to 2020 - the start of a new decade

Here's hoping that some of your new year's resolution involve being more creative and adventurous with the wealth of materials out there.

Its not just about buying new but using up, sharing and recycling.  Its also about dusting off any unloved looms, wheels, carders, combs, hackles, spindles.....

We know we have them looking all forlorn in cupboards, spare rooms, corners and we even cover them to avoid eye contact!!

Lets start 2020 with a

CREATIVE BANG!!

Our new library listing is available!

People have been spinning, weaving and dyeing for thousands of years; then it was done for necessity but nowadays we do it for fun.  The Bradford Guild is an association of ordinary people from all walks of life who share an interest in textiles  and who want to keep the crafts of spinning weaving and dyeing alive and to encourage others to join in.

The Guild was founded in July 1982 when three people, who had completed a spinning and weaving course, decided that they wanted to find a way to continue to develop their skills, but without a formal course structure. From that small beginning the Guild has continued to grow and is still thriving.

Anyone is welcome to join us, even if they don't spin, weave or dye! Details of the current committee members can be found on the contacts page and you can fill in the "contact us" form in the left hand menu or email us at
bradfordguild@googlemail.co.uk and we'll get back to you.
